Hospitals in Bangalore for Swine Flu Testing

Swine Flu is a talk everywhere in the country. With a major outbreak in Pune and making the city to standstill with Malls, Cinemas, School and Colleges have been shut down. Bangalore has also seen a drasatic rise in the city with suspected cased and confirmed cases for Swine Flu.

Bangalore has got its first death with the Swine flu disease. A teacher who has never travelled outside India nor had been in contact with anyone who is affected with the Swine Flu. Yet after testing was performed, it was confirmed that her death was due to Swine flu. This means that now the disease is not spreading only with the people who have come from the swine flu affected countries or have come in contact with the people who are affected. It has become natural disease can be caused to anyone.

There are many steps and precaution we need to follow in order to not get the flu. In Bangalore, Government has listed the Private hospitals who can admit the citized who are suspected of swine flu cases and testing can performed too. The private hospital are all geared in order to take up the responsibility and help the citizen from the flu.

# Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

# Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.

# Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. The virus can spread this way.

# Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

# If you get sick with influenza, stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
Due to this many schools, colleges and cinemas halls, street have gone deserted. Government is recommending to take precaution like wearing a mask and avoiding to visit countries which have been affected.

UPA is going great guns with support

UPA won the election in a historic way, which shook all the parties and also world. Even Congress was not confident that it will won such a number of seats on its own. It was aiming at 180 and at the end of the counting go whopping number of 206.

Congress is now confident it will not require much of outside support from parties which have condition when they are willing to support such as Left, CPI and smaller parties. Congress with it allies got reached the half mark of 272 with just short of 12 seats, which can be reached by support of smaller parties.

The Corporate world also responded positively on the Congress wins. In the history of Indian Stock Exchange, on Monday, the market sprung to 20% circuit level in just 1 minute and 45 seconds which let BSE and NSE chief to think. This led to closure of market for the day. Everyone is happy as Left will not be in Government and now Congress can work on its terms and conditions. Mostly the Corporate and other countries which are looking out for diversified investment in India.

Congress has submitted their resignation and with panel of ministers, President has re-invited Congress to form the Government by showing the majority and ManMohan Singh will be the Prime Minister again. Congress without going out for support as received an whopping support for 315 and which has already been submitted to President of India.

Congress + allies were standing at 261. Samajwadi Party : Amar Singh with it 23 MPs offered support. JD(S) Kumaraswamy with it 3 MPs, support, RJD with it 4 members, BSP with its 21 members and Bodo People’s Front, Nagaland People Front, Sikkim Democratic Front with 1 each.

The figure reached to 315 with support for Congress + Allies. and they needed only 272. Now that the Congress has support numbers, it will now need to look out for the portfolio’s that it would like to keep with it and then other portfolio’s which need to given to their supporting parties.

Finance, Defence, Home, will be with the same ministers, and with Congress. However, the most important is Railways, which was with Lalu Prasad need to be decided who will get it. However, Lalu has offered support to the Congress, still he is not been considered for the post. Wait and watch.

DMK chief Karunanidhi, who is supporting Congress, is also looking out for a handful of berth in Cabinet for its family and friends.

We need to wait and watch how congress is going to handle the ministry portfolio’s with its allies.

BJP accepts defeats – Congratulate Manmohan Singh

Today, once the election results started pouring from morning 8’o clock and about 10’o clock, Congress had clear majority and lead in the 15th Lok Sabha Election.

The top notch member of the BJP came out and started analyzing all the possibility if there is any way that they can recover from the disastrous loss that they going to make in this election.

BJP accepted it defeat in the first half of the day, stating that this was major turnaround in the politics of India. They are willing to take the results passed by People of India and ready to place them in the opposition again. A Parliamentary meeting has been held by BJP in order to check what will be their stand at the end of the result and where they will stand in the complete Lok Sabha with their respective allies. BJP has accepted the defeat and mentioned that this is not a individual defeat, but a complete party and all members are responsible for the defeat not a single person.

L.K Advani has congratulated ManMohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi on their victory and formation of the Government. Also during the meeting of the BJP, Advani has expressed his feeling of stepping down for the Opposition party leader. However, this is yet on considered, and more information will provided later. The meeting was attended by many top member of BJP Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Jaswant Singh, L.K Advani, others.

BJP up to now has been leading in 164 seats with Congress 258. However, BJP will provide the same co-operation as it had done in the past when Congress was in the rule.

Once all the results out, BJP will sit together and analyze where they lost ground which led to such dramatic downfall of the party.

Congress makes waves in the 15th Lok Sabha Election

Congress keeping its word that it will form the next Government, has come very much true. At the stroke of 8 am and 11 am, Congress was leading on about 200+ seats and BJP came out without hope accepting the defeat.

All the senior leader from BJP, Left, Third and fourth front have been shocked with the lead the Congress has taken and now it race to form the Government.

The charisma of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have worked a lot in this election. They sticked to their manifesto and worked as team and came out with astounding results. Whereas BJP, was always looking into unwanted issue, and made a way to go down in this election. Third Front which was in assumption that it will sweep the election and will ask Congress to support in the formation of Government has been washed out completely from the states like West Bengal and Kerala. Where they hold a very key position in all these years.

Mamata Banerjee with Congress has completely sweeped the West Bengal and has given hope to Congress that will form the Government. BJD has sweeped the Orissa general election and will not support any Government in Centre. Well it will be happy to be seated in the opposition of the Government formation party.

The biggest surprise which hit Congress and BJP was Rajasthan and Delhi, where BJP thought it will gain seats and all the seats in Delhi are of Congress and 50% of Rajasthan seats are of Congress. BJP has made it ways in certain states where it had allies and also had it own rule. BJP has accepted the defeat and is going to hold a meeting in order to see where they went wrong, and why the results are not to their expectations.

Andhra Pradesh has also given Congress a sigh relief where it has its own rule till now and will continue. As Congress has made it way into the assembly election also, however, there was good fight between the TDP and Congress. PRP play spoil sport which divide the vote bank of both Congress and TDP. TRS has not gain the number of seats which it had in the year 2004 and same with TDP.

Congress is well placed to form the Government on its own without any support required from Left or Third front. Congress has emerged a single largest party with its allies, TMC, SP and JMM which will help them to form the Government. However, some of the key minister of Congress have lost their seats from their respective Constituency P. Chidambaram - ShivGanga and many others.

The election’s are over. The last phase of election saw a good turnout of about 62% in overall India. The major states which is going to play a role in the phase 5 election and also in forming the Government will be Tamil Nadu with 39 seats in its Kitty.

The election commissioner might now be a relief man for all the phase of election have completed and now only counting which will start on May 16. Each and every individual has been working hard from last one month to make this election Polling go smoothly. However, we had incidence in each phase of election, at some place voting was done again. Parties workers had fight with each other, some police lathi charges, cases were booked.In last phase of election, in Orissa, TMC workers and other parties had fight and got hurt each other. BJP boy, Varun Gandhi stated that there is rigging of vote going on in his constituency.

The parties have begun searching for allies which will help them to reach the magical number of 272 in order to form the Government. The third front creator, H.D Deve Gowda, son H.D Kumaraswamy, went to meet Sonia Gandhi. What does this mean, is he joining or supporting Congress once the election are over, then what about the third front party.

BJP has thrown all its representative all over country, in order to find, negotiate, and bring the party under its flagship. Jayalalitha, ChandraBabu Naidu and Mayawati are the major person for whom BJP are looking into and working hard to get their support. BJP is also afraid where it is one of the allies JD(U) Nitish Kumar, willl fall into the kitty of Congress. It is not letting any door open for the Congress to pull out it allies and join them.

The same with Congress, it is all over the country and in search of parties to form the Government. However, Congress is in a great dilemma of how to deal with certain parties. As it is in ally with Karunanidhi and would also like Jayalalitha to join the party for the support, which is not possible. On the other hand, if they look out for Mayawati(BSP), then they already have support of SP Mulayam Singh Yadav with them. These two leader are from two different direction which will never meet. Then in Orissa, if Congress looks out TMC and it is in ally with Left. Congress is tied from all over, and we need to wait and watch how Congress is going to work out on its plan of action.

The key role who are going to play in forming the Government in Central are ChandraBabu Naidu, Mayawati and Jayalalitha. The party who is able to grab these three will emerge as the Owner of the Prestigious Chair of India.

The surveys are out and it looks like the Congress will emerge as Single largest party, however will need support from allies to reach the magical number.

The last Phase of Election has arrived - 13th May

Everyone states that 13th is not a good number. It speaks or spells bad, as the number is 13th. In some of the countries this is number will not appear in any of their apartments, houses, or buildings. They call the number as horror number.

Yet, the future of India is going to be decide on D-Day, 13th May, when India will vote for the last time to complete the 5 phase of voting for the 15th Lok Sabha Election. This will be last day when parties will starting calculating their results and how many they have won and loss. Every party has gone out with its complete strength for campaign in the respective states.

Tamil Nadu is leading the in the last phase with 39 seats to be on Poll. Sonia Gandhi is campaign in Tamil Nadu and also in talks with many allies to help them in forming government. DMK is also willing to provide support for the Congress led Government.

We need to wait and watch who will switch which side of the Government. As the left and other parties are going to play a major role in the formation of the Central Government. The same applies for certain state Government, where newly emerged parties are going to play major role.

NDA has displayed in complete power on Sunday, giving all out and out answer to the Congress questions, about its allies and Narendara Modi, Nitish Kumar and TRS joining the campaign.

The day has arrived when the BJP led allies called NDA, has shown up it complete power, which will showcase their Government formation in 15th Lok Sabha Election. Congress had made many statements that BJP now has now 4 allies left with him, and will not be able to form the Government.

L.K.Advani, BJP chief has taken this strong step to show up the Power the BJP has with him in this election. This rally was already announced by L.K.Advani, to showcase the power of NDA led Government. All the Big names were present in the rally, starting from himself L.K.Advani, Rajnath Singh, Venkaiah Naidu, Nitish Kumar, Narendra Modi, Bimal Gurung, Akali Dal, and the latest to join was TRS Chief ChandraSekhar Rao.

NDA not only has it old allies with it, also got in new allies from some of the states like Ajit Singh led Rashtriya Lok Dal, Bimal Gurung led Gorakha Janamukthi Morcha, O P Chautala led Indian National Lok Dal, Telagana Rashtra Samithi and Asom Gana Parishad.

This rally led a strong anwer to the Congress question's for Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar as they did not like each other, this is the reason Narendra Modi was not allowed to campaign in Bihar. Nitish Kumar has also send a strong answer to the Congress and Left, that he is with NDA and has no view to join other parties in order to help for forming a new Government.

This rally had many discussion starting from Punjabi to Gorkha separate states, infrastructural, development and main Congress has done in last 5 years.

Congress looking out for Parties.

Did anyone hear that Rahul Gandhi is now speaking as a true politician, in politically correct language? Rahul Gandhi held a press conference on May 5th at New Delhi to answer some of the question and make some announcement which may shake the political arena.

The statement that shook the complete political scenario was: Congress is ready to support Left if they get the numbers or anyway Left will support congress at the end of poll. Rahul Gandhi praised TDP chief Mr ChandraBabu Naidu for his contribution toward the development of Andhra Pradesh, TRS Chief Charndrasekhar Rao and most prominent Mrs. Jayalaitha for their work.

Rahul Gandhi has opened doors for all the parties to come and join with them in order to form Government after May 16th. Nitish Kumar has been approached and stated that he willing to leave BJP after 15 years and join Congress to form the government. Once these statements were out, the media started contacting each individual and responses were very truly a political scenario. Left as mentioned before would not join Congress or BJP in order to form Government as it still hoping to get number on its own. Nitish Kumar competely rubbed of his joining Congress after the election, as he is with BJP and will be with them.

Rahul Gandhi is throwing his net all over India and ready to grab anything that ready. What does this mean? Is Congress nervous that they will need to sit in the Opposition or need to join hand with party inorder to support than forming a Government? BJP is pretty convinced and not reacting on the comments of Rahul Gandhi, however, still this not made clear that is Nitish Kumar with BJP or to join Congress. Statement from Nitish says that he is with BJP.

Need to wait and watch after the Poll who stands where. To a comment made by Rahul, that NDA has gone away and cannot form government as all its allies have fled.

BJP come this Sunday, is displaying its strength in the Punjab Rally. All BJP led states, chief minister are going to join the rally.

Mamta Banerjee has also made it clear that if the Congress is looking out to join Left or Left joining with Congress after Poll, the she will not be a part of Congress. The same with Left has stated that they are not joining Congress.

Congress looking out for alliance

Can you believe this the government which stated that they have strong hold and will be able to conquer the Lok Sabha Seats on its own without any major alliance or taking help from other parties (Left or CPI). Is now thinking to revive their policy.

PM Manmohan Singh, made it clear that they are ready to alliance with Left parties as they were already with from last 4 years and due to the Nuclear agreement they broke apart. However, they are still welcome to join the party and work together. Congress feeling the heat of the loosing the battle in the Lok Sabha after 3 phase voting done.

Congress is not leaving any stone unturned in order to grab alliance with any party which can help it to reform the government. BJP seems to be very happy as it will come into power if Congress is unable to make to the magical count. The alliance talk came into picture when the Congress Digvijay Singh stated that Congress is ready to sit in the Opposition too. Still their Prime Ministerial Candidate will Mr. Manmohan Singh.

PM Manmohan Singh is also not leaving any stone unturned getting in talks with many parties and his old friends to join the party and lead them to form the government in Centre. Nitish Kumar may join the UPA and UPA is also reaching the JD(U) to join with them.

Looking out to the news in last few days or weeks, Jagdish Tytler was let out without any charges for the riot in 1984. Bofors case which was one of the key of points of BJP in every election agenda, the main person involved has been let out Quattrocchi without any chargesheet.

This is a wait and watch game which way the Citizen of India are going to vote in the coming phase of Election.

Lok Sabha Election Phase 3 - Voter Turnout

Wow, At last the magical of the 2/3 majority has been reached by the polling phase 372. The parties who get all the 372 seats out of 543 will form the government.

The phase 3 election has ended and ended not so strong note. There were 107 seats which went on polling with the main politician in line to decide their fate. L.K.Advani, Sonia Gandhi main other prominent personalities were a part of the 3^rd phase election.

Karnataka has ended it polling phase for the Lok Sabha election by going on 11 seats for the final countdown. It was good turnout then previous phase. A total of 60% voter came out of their house to vote for the country, and lead India.

If the overall voting is calculated then Phase 3 saw a total of 50% voters turnout from the states which went on Poll. Sikkim being the highest with 69% in the state list. This election was hard hit on the some of the state, being a long weekend and burning heat, made way to many voters to take off from their city and go to some cool place, without casting their vote. However, Mumbai had good turnout from the film industry and other major business houses.

This polling phase will be not be able to decided who will lead here, as due to long weekend many of the voters have skipped their voting rights, and went on vacation. Once the government is formed, these voters will comeback and say “the government is not following the right path”. At that point, they will not be thinking, that did they cast vote, when they had choices to select the Government.

So Citizens of India, please make use of your Voting rights without thinking that long weekend, let us enjoy, thinking that the government or India decide what they need to do why should I care.

The phase 1 and 2 of the Lok Sabha election went well in some states and some attacks in place by naxals. There was moderate turnout in the both the phase of the elections. However, some of the states polling was done quietly without any major issues.

Some of the states which are going to poll for their Assembly (Andhra Pradesh, Orissa) are done with their polls for both Lok Sabha and Assembly. Andhra Pradesh had a major biggies in the Phase 2 of the election like Chiranjeevi, YSR Reddy, Chandrababu Naidu contesting. Orissa also had Naveen Patnaik in Phase 2 contesting.

Turnout of voter for Phase 2 – Lok Sabha Election

Phase 2 election have been completed and some of the states are done with their Election drama. Andhra Pradesh and Orissa will be deciding who will form the next government in the state, whereas will wait and watch for the center.

In Andhra Pradesh, the turnout for the last phase of election increased from phase 1. The phase two had many biggies fighting for the seat in State and Lok Sabha. As the reports say that Chiranjeevi has given a tough fight to both Congress and BJP and with cashing on the vote bank of Congress.

PRP will play a major role in supporting and forming the government in Andhra Pradesh. We need to wait watch who will win the state election and which party will play a major role in the support.

Orissa is also going to witness a hung parliament. The total voter turnout for the state which went out for election was 55%. Karnataka saw a whopping low turnout in this phase of election of about 46%-50%.

Phase 2 of Indian Election - April 23.

The first phase of 15th Lok Sabha Election went well with round about a 60% (approx) voter turnout across all the 70 states.

Kerala had highest turnout of 73% for the election. Andhra Pradesh has about 56%(approx) voter turnout.

There were incidence such Naxals attacking the Polling booth, looting the ballot box and also killing some of the Security forces guards. Overall there were 16 Naxals attacks in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and some other states.

Every party is feeling good and thinking that they have majority in the Phase 1. The second phase of election will be on April 23 where again some of the states which have voted in Phase 1 will also be present. Lalu Prasad wanted a re-poll on some of the constituencies as he states there was malpractice and discrepancy in the Polling booth.

India Votes – Election – Phase 1

The D has arrived, every party gearing up for the last 48 hours before the voting starts in their states and decide the phase 1 count out. Each and every party have started pointing each other mistake and what they have not done for the state.

SP released it manifesto : The highlight point of the manifesto was they want to take India back to old age where there will no computer and no globalization. They need to ban English and computer completely from the country. How could this be possible, most of research and other scientific testing are done using computer and help from global community. Congress Leads the pack though many hurdles

The second projection of the 15th Lok Sabha is out from most of the leading newspaper and media. They still show up as the congress is ahead in the tally, though there are breakups and hiccups in the party. Though the alliance of Congress has been broken by many parties RJD, SP, CPI(M), JD, PMK and others. Still the tally shows that Congress is well placed to lead the tally of the seats in the House. NDA is also gone down by a couple number of seats, so is UPA. After all the breakup that are going within NDA and UPA and formation of new front, third and fourth front. They have given the two biggies to slip down certain number of seats in the first projection of seats.

This means that the Third and fourth are gaining popularity and are going to bargain big to form the government with one of the leading parties (Congress or BJP). This election no party is going to gain a clear majority to form a government in the House. They will need to rely on the Third or fourth front to come into power. This means exchange of big bucks. If you remember this was the last time when new broke out that minister were offered big bucks to stay in Government.

Indian Election Political Drama

Come this election it is no less that War between the all biggies in the political scenario. It is full fledged movie, which I think some of Indian or international director are keep watch to make a movie. We have action, drama, emotions and many more to come when the results are declared. The most awaited part of the movie will be after the results are declared when many parties will change their dress and which denied before election will result is acceptance after results.

This movie started with two biggies of the Indian Political Drama : BJP(NDA) and Congress(UPA). Then the split between the CPI party from congress which led to biggest drama, if the government will fall or stay. However, NDA made a long stand for the government to collapse and election be held. Then came the inflation, which shook all the parties, and everyone forgot about the nuclear deal, as this was hitting their pockets. All parties joined hands to control and also started blaming each other. One after the other UPA government had good chance of staying in power, inflation, Stock market sliding, Mumbai attack, Malegaon.. so on.

At last the dates were declared by the Election Commission for the 15th Lok Sabha Election which will held in 5 phase all over the country. UPA government was in good position of winning the election again, with Man Mohan Singh as their Prime Minister Candidate. The same was with NDA, with Lal Kishan Advani their Prime ministerial candidate.

Once the dates were declared, the Indian political drama began, UPA government which had the alliance with almost all parties started splitting and UPA government came back to original existance of Congress, with minimal alliance left with them. The same happened with BJP, their long last alliance with BJP came to end after 11 years.

The biggest hit was in Andhra Pradesh, when Chiranjeevi launched his own party PRP without joining any of the existing party. The Congress and TDP were shaken for a while as Chiru has biggest fan following in the complete state. Then slowly the new party formation trend begun.

The first to leave the Congress campaign was CPI. JD chief Deve Gowda gather all parties and woke up the front which was slept after the 14th Lok Sabha Election : Third Front comprising of (AIADMK, PMK, CPI, CPM, TDP, RSP, Forward block, JDS, TRS, BSP… to add more). Mayawati of BSP did not attend the meeting, and talks were going that she would like to be the Prime Ministerial Candidate for the Third Front. However, this came to calm and the decision will taken once the election are done.

The next in the row was NCP lead by Sharad Pawar, who joined BJD to contest. However, BJD is now a part of Fourth Front. You will be wondering now what is Fourth Front.

Fourth Front is combination of parties which are going play very vital role in the formation of Indian Government. It comprises of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Mulayam Singh, Ram Vilas Paswan, Amar Singh. In the previous election too, they played a very important role. To add to them Sanjay Dutt is the General Secretary for the Samajwadi Party, who met with PRP leader Chiranjeevi, and convinced him to join the Fourth Front also called as Yadav Front.

In one of the rally held today by the Fourth Front they have declared that without their support there cannot be government formed in the Centre. To some extent this is true, as they hold a major portion of states which have majority seats representing in Lok Sabha.

P.Chidambaram was addressing a press conference when he skipped one of the questions which was related to Sikh riots of 1984 on Jagdish Tytler. CBI has released him with no evidence and given clean chit.

A member for the audience just threw a shoe at Mr. P,Chindabaram. Our home minister was quick enough to react and miss the shoe hit and also mentioned the he has forgiven the person to did this. The journalist Jarnail Singh did not regret on doing this act. BJP and other parties have condemn this action on Mr.P. Chidambaram.

Election Commission Working hard this time.

The election commission this time has gone out with hard guns on the contesting candidates for any political party. They are not letting any candidate to rule or work his way, as they did in the previous election or polling time.

Election commission is keeping an eyeing anything happening in due course of election. The guidelines posted out the EC are strictly being observed by both the EC and political parties. Many parties are making use of the guidelines in order to show the bad face of the other parties, and vice versa. This makes know that parties are following some of the guidelines which are placed by EC.

EC scanner has found out the some of the most prominent political leaders have been distributing money in their constituency during the time of Holi, or some other rally. This is against the guideline of EC. A candidate contesting in the election cannot distribute money to the people in the any of the constituency.

The member who came under the scanner were

1) Govinda- who distributed money during holi in his constituency and currently is not contesting in the election.

2) Mulayam Sigh Yadav - also found distributing money to his people during the holi, however, Mulayam Singhji made it clear that, he does this every year. Still EC, has issued a notice to him.

3) Now in the row is BJP senior leader Jaswant Singh, who was found distributing money in his son constituency.

Not only EC is eyeing on the money distributing, anything that is against rule of EC, like provoking unwanted speech, which could hit the communal harmony of the nation.

A great example of it is Varun Gandhi, who arrest was created a big drama and became the poster boy of the BJP election campaign. He has moved from Philibit to Etah jail.

Sanjay Dutt has been denied to contest in the poll for Lok Sabha election due to the charges levied on him under the 1993 blast. SC has rejected the plea of Sanjay Dutt to consider his request for contesting in the election under Samajwadi Party.

If you'd like a high level history of Earth Hour, more than 50 million people in 400 cities around the world took part in Earth Hour 2008. The lights went out at Sydney’s Opera House, Rome’s Coliseum, the Empire State Building and the Golden Gate Bridge. Even the Google homepage went dark for the day. Many major corporations took part including HP, Coca-Cola, and Morgan Stanley.

This year, Earth Hour promises to be even bigger as *India* join hands for the first time. Noted film actor and icon Mr Aamir Khan will be leading the campaign in India. Many companies such as HP, Intel, HSBC, ICICI Bank and Wipro are also supporting the campaign. I. Preface

Elections to the 15th Lok Sabha are to be held shortly.

The Indian National Congress seeks this mandate on the strength of the performance of the Congress-led UPA government during 2004-09.

We made promises in our manifesto of 2004.

We have delivered on them in a very substantial measure.

The Indian National Congress seeks a fresh mandate on the basis of its core values and ideology — secularism, nationalism, social justice, and economic growth for all, especially for the aam admi.

II. Why Congress?

These are national elections.

While there will be regional, state-level and local issues that are important, these are elections for a government at the Centre, one that will govern all of India in its many diversities and fulfill its multitude of hopes and aspirations.

It is only the Indian National Congress that is anchored in the larger vision of India as a nation, while at the same time being sensitive to regional and local sentiments.

Congress vs BJP: Secular, Liberal Nationalism vs Narrow Communalism

The Indian National Congress has always been in the forefront of the battle against those forces that seek to divide and fragment our society.

The Indian National Congress has always been the bulwark against the four “isms” that threaten to tear our country apart -- communalism of all kinds, linguistic chauvinism, regional parochialism and casteism.

At the national level, the BJP has sought to position itself as the main political rival of the Indian National Congress.

Third Front – a recipe for chaos

There is also the so-called Third Front, a grouping of opportunistic parties. These parties have neither consistency nor clarity. They have neither competence nor commitment. This Front, grounded in the politics of convenience, is nothing but a platform for personal ambitions. It speaks of “alternative polices” without spelling out what these alternatives are. Parties of the Third Front do one thing when they are in power and quite another when they are rejected by the people.

Only a united India can fight terrorism

The integrity and security of India are paramount. Terrorism threatens many countries, including India.

Terrorism knows no religion and it respects no political boundary. It is, as has become painfully evident, not confined to any community or any political persuasion. Its method is the mindless use of violence directed at the innocent in the most cowardly manner.

Let it be very clear — terrorism must be fought relentlessly, intelligently and wisely, and without fear or favour.

The Middle Path – the Congress’s way

Balance—or the middle path—has always been the hall-mark of the policies of the Indian National Congress.

As the world experiences a severe recession, it is this balance that is standing India in good stead.

It is a balance between the public sector and the private sector, with an important role assigned to cooperatives and self-help groups.

III. Achievements of the Congress-led UPA Government

The tireless campaign of Smt. Sonia Gandhi, President of the Indian National Congress resulted in its return to the 14th Lok Sabha as the single largest party after eight years in the Opposition. She took the initiative to give shape to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) comprising of the Indian National Congress, its pre-poll allies and supporting like-minded parties. As chairperson of the UPA, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, along with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, negotiated a Common Minimum Programme that became the basis of governance of the coalition.

The May 2004 mandate was for a government that would be responsive to the concerns of the aam admi and to the needs of the poor, the deprived and the disadvantaged.

This has been achieved in very substantial measure.

The May 2004 mandate was for a government that would accelerate economic growth but with a focus always on livelihoods and jobs, on inclusive growth and on social justice.

The Major Accomplishments: 2004-2009

The accomplishments of the Congress-led UPA government since May 2004 have been tangible and visible. The manifesto of the Indian National Congress for the 2004 Lok Sabha elections provided the foundation for the National Common Minimum Programme that formed the basis of governance during the past five years. The pledges made in this manifesto have been translated into reality by the Congress-led UPA government.

V. The Way Forward

The Indian National Congress says what it means and means what it says.

The Indian National Congress promises what it can do and will do what it promises.

The Indian National Congress is irrevocably committed to ensuring that government functions in the interest of the people for whom it exists and for whom it works.

The Indian National Congress has always believed that the correct approach to governance is to address the daily concerns of the people and solve their problems. It is to be responsive and accountable to the needs of the people. It is that governance is a partnership between the electors and the elected and that the perceived gap between the people and those in power must be significantly narrowed.

Dr Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister has led the country with dignity and firm resolve. His integrity, maturity and wisdom, together with his unique expertise and experience, makes him best qualified to lead the nation and handle the many challenges that India faces, both at home and abroad.

Towards faster and more inclusive growth

The Indian National Congress is fully aware that the world economy faces the worst crisis in 50 years. This crisis has been caused by a failure of financial markets in the USA and in other developed countries. However, the Indian economy has shown considerable resilience under the most adverse international circumstances. This is the outcome of the policies of successive Congress governments. This is the direct result of a vibrant public sector that is the legacy of Jawaharlal Nehru, government ownership of banks that is the legacy of Indira Gandhi, and a strong private sector that matured and flowered during the tenure of Rajiv Gandhi and thereafter.

The average rate of economic growth during the self-declared India Shining period of the BJP was just 5.8% per year, as compared to 8.5% during the five year tenure of the Congress-led UPA government. 2008-09 has proved to be a difficult year for growth, yet the Indian economy will grow at about 7%. That is why our immediate priority is to revive the economy and restore the high growth witnessed in the first four years of the Congress-led UPA Government.

The Indian National Congress will put in place measures to ensure that the momentum of growth is maintained. Three stimulus packages have already been announced. Interest rates have been reduced. Credit flows to industry have been encouraged and assured. The impact of these policies will be felt in the coming weeks and months.

The focus of the new measures will be to stimulate demand in the domestic economy and to ensure that there is more purchasing power in the hands of the people and more liquidity in the hands of companies. Public investment in agriculture and infrastructure, which has increased appreciably over the past five years, will be stepped up further. Within 45 days of forming the new Government, the Indian National Congress will present the regular Budget for the year 2009-10 with the basic objective of returning to the path of faster and more inclusive growth, which is so essential for fulfilling all our social and economic objectives.

In keeping with the promises made in our 2004 Manifesto, the Congress-led UPA government had set up a number of very important commissions including the Administrative Reforms Commission, the National Commission on Enterprises in the Unorganised Sector, the National Farmers Commission, the National Knowledge Commission and the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council. Their valuable recommendations will be taken up for implementation in a systematic manner and without any delay.

The Work Programme: 2009-2014

In addition to consolidating and taking forward the numerous missions, programmes and schemes launched during 2004-2009, the Indian National Congress makes the following solemn promises to the people of our country.

We will guarantee the maximum possible security to each and every citizen.

Our policy is zero-tolerance towards terrorism from whatever source it originates. We have already initiated the process of equipping our police and other specialist security forces with the latest weapons and technology to meet terrorist threats. This process will be taken forward vigourously. More specialist battalions will be raised and positioned in key locations across the country.

Citizenship is a right and a matter of pride. With the huge IT expertise available in our country, it is possible to provide every Indian with a unique identity card after the publication of the national population register in the year 2011.

We will ensure the highest level of defence preparedness and also take further steps for the welfare of the defence forces and their families.

2nd poll Prediction – Congress Leading.

The 2nd Poll prediction is out by many leading newspaper, still the congress is leading though there are many hiccups and breakup going on between the party.

This prediction is combination of RJD and NCP party in combine with Congress. Yet to decide if they are going to leave congress or wait till election. If they leave Congress, still the party will ahead of BJP and need to find alliance to form Goverment. However, BJP is also not far behind in the race.

In total of 543 seats needed to form Government, Congress with RJD and NCP comprises of 257 which is 15 seats short of required majority. The Third front will play a major role in this election with about 96 seats in the kitty.

Congress has declared most of its candidates though lot of saga is going in between the Congress/UPA and RJD. RJD chief Lalu prasad who clearly stated that 3 seats provided by him to Congress in Bihar is good enough for them to contest in the state. Lalu Prasad Yadav also mentioned that Congress does not have a stake of seats or good public turn out in Bihar, Orissa and West Bengal.

Third Front is Back

The biggest political drama in the history of India election has begun. The national party which always lead India were Congress and BJP with coalition party.

If you remember the 13th Lok Sabha election, also saw emerge of new party in the history of India called Third front. However, the party did not perform well and was broken or lost somewhere in the last four year.

Now once again the Third Front party has come or emerge with lead taking by Deve Gowda. He has contacted most of the party got them together to bring live the Third Front party again. He has brought together about 9 parties which will combine a total of 91 seats in Lok Sabha Election. Mostly these party include the Southern state parties of India from each state.

Today it is official launch of the Third Front party from Tumkur which is 50 km away from Bangalore. All parties leader have arrived and the official launch will be done after 12:30 pm. Most promient leaders like Jayalaitha and Mayawati will not be attending the launch, however their representative are present in the party.

The national party are rethinking their strategies to keep safe their alliance. Congress has stated that it will think about it after the election. However, BJP has not yet decided whether to join the Third Front or not. Prakash Karat has been contacted with all the party members of the Third front.

BSP List of Candidates for Karnataka

Mayawati led BSP which sweeped Uttar Pradesh in one go. Is now thinking to sweep the country in the same tradition. Already Mayawati had organized a long rally, for launch of BSP party in country wide and selecting the respective candidate for the party who field in coming Lok Sabha election of BSP.

Karnataka being a new platform for the BSP, has come out in big way by contesting on the 28 seats of Lok Sabha from the state. BSP is making clean sweep in the UP state election and fielding for 80 seats in Lok Sabha from UP. Thinking to do so in other states, which will help Mayawati to decide the PM candidate. India Gears Up Election 2009

It is time for us to come out and start voting for the right government which will take India to the next step from Developing to Developed Country. The campaigns have started and political drama has begun in the Centre for the most prestigious seat in the country. The parties have started deciding who contest from where and which state they would like to conquer. India is gearing up for its 15th Lok Sabha Election.

Currently the coalition of UPA is ruling which is headed by Sonia Gandhi as chair person of Congress Party. Manmohan Singh heading the country as Prime Minister of India. This election is very important from both the Congress and also BJP view. One party will emerge as largest party to form the government with the help other parties. The election Commissioner has declared the date of the Election which is schedule for the 2009. The voting will be done in 5 phase divided between states.

The counting of the vote will start on May 16 and results declared by end of Month. A total of 543 seats will contested.

Lok Sabha is composed of representative of the people chosen by direct election. The maximum strength of the House envisaged by the Constitution is 543. The total elective membership is distributed among the States in such a way that the ratio between the number of seats allotted to each State and the population of the State is, so far as practicable, the same for all States. The number is divided among the 28 States and the 7 Union Territories as follows:

INDIA VOTES and GEARS for LOK SABHA ELECTIONS 2009

All Citizens of India are getting ready, pulling out their Voter id. If they dont have then getting register with Election Commission of India. This is time everyone in India wants to Vote and use the right of vote.

Citizens are in view of what is happening around and which government is good or bad. People are keeping an track of all the happenings in Lok Sabha in and around the state and central government. This time India will see a good participation for citizen in electing the right government who can provide us a stable and good prospects to the country.
